Reflections of Christ
The very core of Christian life is to have Christ's life take hold of the very depths of the soul; to change it, dominate it, to feed and sustain it. A Christian life is not an attempt to imitate Christ or use a perceived knowledge concerning Him. It isn't a cult or a method of thinking, nor a forced set of methodical rituals or man-made rules and regulations.
Some may try to imitate Christ for many years with a sincere desire, but never be a Christian. Some may have the correct knowledge of who Christ is as a person and of His power, but never be a Christian. Christ can be admired and an attempt be made to imitate His life, but without a realization of who He is. Some may believe that Jesus is indeed God and that He did die for the sins of mankind, even understanding the need to be regenerated or changed, but they never submit to Him as their Lord and are therefore never saved.
To be a Christian is to come into the very life of the individual of Christ Himself. If Jesus is someone you look upon from the outside, as a window shopper who stares intently but never touches or buys, you will never know that you are His. But if Christ is in you, living and reigning with authority and you are obeying His word, then the truth of being a Christian will be evident in your life. Once Jesus is living within you He cannot be hidden, and the light of Christ will surely shine.
