All For The Glory Of God

All For The Glory Of God

By giving Himself to the work of the Father, Jesus glorified God in showing His redeeming love.  God's glory is His holiness and His redeeming love which conquers sin and rescues sinners.  Jesus said the Father is the righteous One who must condemn sin and also the loving One who will save anyone who repents of their sin.  And Jesus gave Himself as proof of God's righteousness, all the way through to death.  Jesus glorified God through His acts of obedience to the Father and giving His life to atone for mankind's sin, all which magnified God's holiness and His love.  We can see how much God loves us; how much God must condemn sin; and how willing God is to save the sinner, all from Jesus giving His whole life for us.  Jesus considered nothing too great a sacrifice to the Father or for mankind, not even His own life.  The very reason for Jesus' life and death was to glorify the Father-His holiness and His redeeming love which would shine through the darkness of a sinful world.

As Christians, our entire lives should be modeled after Jesus' obedience to the Father.  Each day let our attitudes be that of a child looking for direction, having a Christ-like dependence on the Father to show us His way.  Everything we think, all that we say and do, let it be done as Jesus did according to God's will, for God's glory, that Christ would shine His light out into the darkness of a world in such need of a Savior.
